#thebookblogtrain What's your fav drink while reading?

What's your favourite drink while reading?

This is the question I'm always asked and to which i really have no answer.

The reason being simple, I'm highly protective of my books, I can't bear even a single crease on them.

And imagine having tea/ coffee while reading and suddenly that all spills onto the book................

Every booklovers worst nightmare shall definitely come true at that time.

I know a lot of people love having tea/coffe/juice etc. While reading I really fangirl when i see someone doing so, but it's definitely not gonna be the case with me!

That's all guys, tell me in the comments section below what is your favourite drink while reading & what do you have in mind about my opinion on drinking while reading!

Thank you, much love ❤

OVERVIEW/ MY OPINION:

This book for me was an average read.  The language used is lucid, the narration was good.  The cover and the title are appropriately chosen.  The characters were well developed.  The plot however wasn't that strong, it made it very difficult for me to read on & even complete the book, at times its a bit over dragged, the story takes a very slow pace in the between.  I think the author’s could have made a better attempt here. I however, loved the quotes the conversations and so on.
Overall, its worthy to be read once.

#thebookblogtrain HOW TO DEVELOP THE HABIT OF READING

Heya! So the last time I spoke about the ways to develop the habit of reading in your kids, i got a lot of queries over developing the habit of reading in Adults! So here you,

This post will help you become a reader!

1) Befriend like minded people:

This is the first step towards becoming a reader, surround yourself with people who are ardent readers, this will motivate you to pick up the reading habit in order to join in the discussion! If this seems hard, try making yourself a part of Facebook groups who promote reading, some of the FB groups are Hellys book club, page turners by buzzfeed , etc.

2) Carry a book Along:

While travelling or commuting to work/ college try carrying a book with you, you'll be surprised to find out that you'll actually begin to read during your journey!

3) Don't choose classics:

This is by far the worst thing you can do while you try to develop the habit of reading.  Classics are really good, but they aren't great for beginners. The language used in them is quite difficult to understand and their concepts uphold a really deep meaning, if you still want to try your hands on some classics i would recommend to go on with easy one's such as The diary of anne Frank, the little prince, etc.

4) Utilise your spare time!

Most of the time when we are free, we tend to browse through our phones, social media and so on, but instead of that, utilise that time for reading, with this you'll ne able to undergo an 'INTERNET DETOX' for some time, you shall develop discipline and self control & in turn you'll begin to read more!

5) Start up with short and easy books:

The best way to develop the habit of reading is through read easy and short reads! You can try short stories! They'll help you read more in lesser time & will make sure that you get addicted to reading!!

That's all guys, hope you find these tips helpful.

Book review. Voice of the soul

TITLE: VOICE OF THE SOUL
AUTHOR : Shreyansh Kanswa
GENRE: Poetry
LENGTH:137

DESCRIPTION:
How does it feel to lie just by yourself and delve into the silence. The silence that is a path to deeper self, a self that is unexplored. That same unexplored self can also be regarded as the soul.

While the time ticks on the clock, a bond with your soul is timeless. Such metaphors are rendered powerless when a conversation is created with oneself.

These poems mean more than just words, they scream soulfulness. It is rather weird that we go looking for answers outside when all that we have to do is seek deeper within ourselves. The poems are experiences that the poet shares with the world, and these experiences are nothing fancy- they are all moments that the poet experiences with himself. They are questions risen from inquisitiveness and introspection.

OVERVIEW/ MY OPINION:

The content definitely does justice to the title, the musings, poems etc are carved out straight from one's soul, there are many poems that speak to the reader  & many that speak for themselves, the language used was easy going and lucid, the cover is designed sceptically keeping in mind the interest of a reader.  The narration too was done quite well.  Overall it was a really good and an easy going, quick read!

Hello there everyone, thank you for giving this post your time.  I apologise for not being able to post since the past 3 months due to my exams.  But i assure you that the days ahead are gonna be filled with lots of articles and reviews.
I'm back today with another book review Entitled AMMA AND I by TRISHNA DAMODAR.

GENRE : Fiction
LENGTH:204
PUBLISHER:lendsart publishing
PUBLISHED:2018

DESCRIPTION:

You are unique in your own existence Kripa and Maya live in a small town in Kerala. Surrounded by greenery, streams, a vast rubber estate and a palatial home, they had it all. Maya enjoys listening to the radio and reading books and magazines as it offers her a chance to connect to the world outside. She wanted to do so much more in her life, but a sudden marriage proposal from a man based in France gets her anxious at the possibility of her dreams fading away like smoke. Kripa has been the dutiful daughter, wife and mother. All she knew was her life and family in Kuttiadi. But she wants more for her daughter, Maya. So, when a proposal from someone in France came along, she jumped at the opportunity, hoping that this would give her daughter a chance at a bigger and better life. Maya, so lost in her own world, was unaware of certain shadows that lurked in her own backyard. What hides behind the constant smile on Kripa’s face? Read the journey of Kripa and Maya, set in the 1970’s, as they struggle to be heard in a society that is fixed in its norms.

OVERVIEW/ MY OPINION:

Considering the fact that this book was my very first read of the year, I really wanted it to be a really lovely and memorable one, I must say that it definitely fulfilled my desires!

This story is set up in 1970, in a small village in kerala, the story revolves around Maya, her mother kripa and Ashok. This book truly gave me that inspiration to travel to kerala and experience the beautiful scenic beauty of God's own country, all thanks to the author for having such a wonderful writing style that kept me engaged throughout the story!
I like the way the story is developed, right from the beginning till the end all the important details are taken care of, it was wonderful to learn about the lifestyle, customs and  traditions  of the people in kerala during that era.

The narration too was done quite well, the character development too was on point, i could connect very well with Maya. I loved the concept of these two women who stand up for their rites, inspite of facing the strong oppositions. The story even potrays the development of maya from a meek, shy girl to a confident and a bold woman despite the fact that in those days the position of women was inferior and their job was only confined to the kitchen and the upbringing of their children.

I also loved the way the author has carved the relationships in this book, every relationship is given its own respective space and time to grow, nothing seemed like a fairy tale, it was all pretty realistic.

The language was easy going and lucid, the cover is designed sceptically keeping in mind the interest of a reader and the title is chosen appropriately keeping in mind the curiosity of a reader.  This was a real quick read though the story is a slow paced one.

Overall, this was a very interesting  and an easy going read, I had a really wonderful experience with this book.  I would definitely recommend this book to anyone and everyone!

MY RATING: 4.5/5🌟

1) HABITS ARE CAUGHT NOT TAUGHT

Just as values, habits too are caught by kids. They'll imitate whatever you do & hence in order to develop the habit of reading in your kids, you yourself should be an avid reader. You may read books of any genre and of any language, but read! You'll surely see that your kids will begin to imitate you.

3) PAY A VISIT TO THE BOOKSTORE:

Instead of simply browsing for books on amazon, try and take your kids to the bookstore, teach them to experience the magic of the store & the pleasure which going through the pages of the book. You can also take them to the bookstore instead of taking the to the gaming centre on sunday. With this you get to spend quality time with your kids & also teach them the ethics of book shopping.

4) INSTALL A SMALL BOOKSHELF ON THE WALL:

Apart from your regular home decor, try and install a small bookshelf on the wall. Encourage your kids to fill in more books in that shelf.

Decide the time during  the day when you and kids will read along for a certain duration of time. This will strengthen your bond & encourage you and your kids to read more , plus you'll even have a reading partner for yourself!
