OVERVIEW/ MY OPINION :

I had the most wonderful time reading this book. The best part about it that it kept me gripped till the end, the language used was easy going and lucid, the writing style was very good and it keeps the reader engaged in reading it. The narration too was done quite well. The title is chosen appropriately, while the cover required minor improvements.

The character backgrounds and development was done really very well, sufficient information was provided about them, keeping in mind not to overdo it. I could connect with all the characters very well, especially with Amaya. I admire the characters of Rehan & Agastya .

Alongside, the story travels many places which makes it a really good read. Definitely not forgetting the way friendships , Family Relationships and emotions are described in this book, the authors job in this part as a whole is commendable.  In fact its difficult to believe that its her debut novel.

I loved that every page had some different secret that was unveiled as the story goes on.
The plot was fresh and strong enough.  I liked how the psychological concept of SURVIVORS GUILT is  described in this book.

The part that sent shivers down my spine was definitely the climax , it was so unexpected & gave the story a whole new outlook! A bit more information about the afterlife of Amaya's family would really be appreciated.

Overall, this was an excellent , captivating, fast paced yet powerful  and an engaging Romantic Thriller.

AUTHOR INTERVIEW: TK PERRY (THE WINGED SERIES)

Heyy guys, thank you so much for giving this post your time! So as you know i haven't posted any author interview since a long time  (well thanks to my exams) so anyway today i bring to you an author interview that i conducted with TK Perry  (author of the winged series). Its but obvious by now that you guys known how much i love her books & im so glad that she has obliged me with an interview.

Her answers are designed to grab your attention just like her books do!

) What inspired you to write? My third grade teacher, Miss Jensen, had us write books as an assignment. I wrote about a bratty brother and sister who tormented each other. I loved writing it, and I loved making the other kids laugh when the teacher read it to them.

2) Since when are you writing? Though 3rd grade was the official inception, I don't ever remember there not being a story in my head. When I was younger, I wrote children's books and lots of poetry.

3 ) What according to you Is writing?

Writing is getting the stories in my head out where others can read them.

4) At this stage in your life whom do you admire the most & why?
Gordon B. Hinckley because he had mastered the art of disagreeing pleasantly.

5) would you like to brief about your childhood and teen days? Nope. lol

6) you're favourite excerp/ quote from this book?

My favorite parts are all spoilers, but this part only spoils Elissa Blue: Book One of the Winged.
"It was the snoring that woke her up. Closing her wings, she rolled to her side to see Cam asleep on the grass, his mouth wide open and emitting a cacophony of sound. A tanned arm was flung across his forehead, nearly obscuring the dark eyelashes that brushed his cheeks. She shut her eyes again, and folded one arm up over her head to cover her ear.
“I don’t think she likes your snoring, Cam,” Elissa giggled.
“Maybe the singing frogs were bothering her or the crickets...both terribly annoying sounds,” Cam suggested.
    “Oh yes, very,” Elissa giggled.
“They’re the real reason no one camps anymore,” Cam asserted sagely.
Mit snorted. “She’s awake, you know. Nobody could sleep through your chatter.”
Elissa shoved Mit playfully and he teetered on the tree stump.
“No, she’s not...is she? Raven? Are you awake?” Cam called quietly.
“Shh, Cam, let her sleep.” Elissa gave him a mischievous smile. “The rabbit’s not burned yet.”
“I’m not burning it,” Mit said, tickling her.
Elissa giggled. “You always burn it. Charred and flavorless is how I like it, remember?”
“Cam, could you hold this a minute?” Mit asked, passing a roasting stick to him as Elissa shrieked and ran, giggling wildly.
Cam chuckled at Mit’s lopsided, hopping gait as he ran after her. “I expect they’ll be gone a while. Go back to sleep, Raven.”
Lexi’s eyes had been open the tiniest of slits, the effort to do so feeling tremendous. At Cam’s words, she relaxed again, and sleep overcame her."

7) 5 years from now on, where would you like to see yourself?

My goal is to publish a book every year, and hopefully finish The Winged series by then. My dream is to have Elissa Blue made into a movie.

8) Will you be writing more books after finishing this series? ( yea a question for my personal interest as i wanna read more books by  u)
Of course. I already have a first draft finished, and several first chapters for other book ideas.

9) anything you'd like to say about the next book in this series?
I really wanted to write about mental illness, so book three is from the perspective of a white-winged girl struggling through the extreme hormonal changes that alter her personality, kind of like PMDD.

Impressive aren't they! I wish her all the very best for her future ventures & i hope she'll be successful Enough to publish a book a year  & provide us with many more interesting stories!

That's all for today guys, Hope you liked the interview.  Do let me know your thoughts over it and if you like my posts please make sure to subscribe to my blog so that you don't miss out onto any of my upcoming posts!

Book review: Regular porridge by sukanya basu malik

Language: English
Publisher: Wordbite
Author : Sukanya Basu mallik
Published: 2018
Pages: 45
Genre: Poetry

Description:

Regular porridge as a collection explores the meaning of life- success and failure and how they intertwine, as well as how a person may find it difficult to balance the two, confusing one for the other. This book contains tales of how people go about their lives and the extraordinary web each life can weave, using the appreciation of art to explore the human experience. Love and human relations have been depicted in some pieces too. Love is agony, ecstasy, unpredictable, testing and perfectly serene. It doesn't always have to be something you feel but something you do. In this collection, fiction has been used to catalyze introspection in people and instead of setting out to solely entertain readers, this poetry collection certainly educates, too.

Overview / My Opinion;

This book was an average read.

The language was crisp and lucid .  The writing style was good.  The title & cover should have been developed better.
I really appreciate the time & effort that has been put in along with the fact that she has covered many social issues through her writings

The poems were good but hardly a few could make an impact on me. I personally love poems, but unfortunately I couldn't relate to many of  the poems much.( but yeah a few poems really stole my heart!)

A few illustrations would enhance one's reading experience.

Overall, this was an average read & a super quick read &  i would recommend it if you're a beginner! Or searching for a unique and refreshing read!

My Rating: 3/5🌟

OVERVIEW/ MY OPINION:

I had a really good time reading this book. Firstly I absolutely loved the cover of the book, like just take a minute to appreciate this beauty.
Now coming to the point, The writing style was excellent, the language used was lucid.
I absolutely loved living in the world created by the author, its so pure and beautifully cladded.
The character development was good.  I could connect with Lexi (the protagonist) i liked the  way her struggles as a princess is portrayed in this book.  Alongside i loved her fierce personality and the Charismatic attitude that she upholds. It was really nice meeting Elissa & Mit after a fairly long time.  But i really feel sorry for Cam, he really deserved good on his path, hence i really wish that the author extends this duology & gives cam along with the characters from the previous book a good life! Secondly, i absolutely adored the  I-DIDN'T-EXPECT-THAT-TO-COME kinda movement when the plot twist came up.
This gave the story a whole new outlook!
Though, i expected this book to be a continuation of the lifes of Elissa , mit, everes and others,  I enjoyed the unexpected story that it had to offer.

As always, the suspense was caught up till the end which made it a very gripping read.

Overall, this was a very pleasant, innovative, interesting and a fantastic read.

MY RATING: 4.5/5🌟

Book Review: The Diary on the Fifth Floor by Raisha lalwani

Are you looking out for a really fresh, innovative, powerful & an enlightening read?
If yes then this post is for you.

Hello everyone, thank you so much for giving this post your time, I'm back today with another book review Entitled THE DIARY ON THE FIFTH FLOOR by RAISHA LALWANI.

LANGUAGE: English
GENRE: Realistic Fiction
LENGTH: 166
PUBLISHER: Rupa Publications
PUBLISHED:2018

DESCRIPTION /SYNOPSIS:

A woman leaves her infant at home but finds her on a busy street in an unexpected turn of events.
Another woman wakes up in a flight hours later, befuddled, in the strangest circumstance.
A fascinating tale of a twenty-five-year-old woman that takes hold of us from the moment she enters the fifth floor of a hospital; more precisely, the psychiatric ward. Visibly terrified, she clutches at her clothbound diary, caught in the horns of a terrible dilemma—whether or not to hand over the diary to the doctor. She fears that she will be declared insane if her tangled web of thoughts unspooling in dark mysterious stories is read by the dissecting eye of a doctor.
What does this diary contain? As the novel progresses, we are drawn into characters and stories that are toe-curling, strange and haunting in their raw intensity. What is the story of this woman? What secrets lie in the pages of her diary? And most importantly, what happens on the fifth floor?

OVERVIEW/ MY OPINION:
I had a really wonderful experience with this book.
This is not the kind of message that every book will deliver to you, its unique and attractive.
The writing style was good and the language used was easy, crisp and lucid.  The cover is designed sceptically keeping in mind the interest of a reader and the title is chosen appropriately keeping in mind the curiosity of a reader.   I could connect really well with the protagonist, the character development was good.
I liked how mental illness is described in this book along with the therapeutic relationship between the Dr. And the writer. The storyline was beautiful and captivating.

This book will bring before you the ugly truths and the pretty lies of the society.
I would really urge you to read it part by part because there's a lot that you'll have to take in .

Overall this was a very interesting and a mind blowing read.
I would definitely recommend this book to everyone, however it isn't really a pleasant read so pick it up according to your preference.

MY RATING: 4/5 🌟

Author Interview: Annie Woods, author of The Angelheart Saga trilogy

Author Annie Woods has entered the Literary world with a bang! She has taken over it like a storm by her debut Novels (Angelheart Saga trilogy), and she has today,  obliged me with an interview .
Firstly thank you so much for agreeing to have a word with me and secondly for giving this questions your time.

Author  Annie Woods is definitely one of the most sweetest person I've ever met! She is a kind, soft spoken & a generous soul!

Her answers are designed to grab your attention! Incase you haven't read my review over First Came Forever  ( 1st book in this trilogy) you can do so here:
Here

INTERVIEW QUESTIONS:

1 ) What inspired you to write?
I can still remember the feeling when I learned to read and this whole new wonderful world opened up to me. I was so blown away! Since then books have been such a huge part of my life, first by reading of course, but also by writing small stories myself. In school I had some wonderful teachers who encouraged me a lot to write. And then there was my grandmother who was a painter, but who’d never dared to follow her dream and instead only painted ‘for fun’ at home, who taught me the importance of being brave enough to pursue your dreams.

2) Since when are you writing?
Even though I’ve dreamed about being a writer since I can remember, I never dared to follow my dream until I wrote my first book, First Came Forever, about four years ago. So I’m a really late bloomer when it comes to pursuing my writing dream… I never truly believed that I could be a writer, so even though stories have been popping up, I never did any serious attempts to write a whole book. But when the story of First Came Forever came to me about four-five years ago on a vacation in California, I felt that it was so strong that I just couldn’t let it go but had to try and write it down. So I started writing the outline for the book already on the plane and then I just kept going. I instantly fell in love with all the characters and wanted to know what would happen to them, so not finishing the book was never an option this time. So, I guess that you could say that it was the story itself that inspired me to dare to write it down!

3 ) What according to you is writing?
Writing and being an author is as I see it about being a story teller, and a bit of a magician, bringing life to characters and stories. The thought that there are people out there reading my work and falling in love with and caring about the characters I’ve created is just overwhelming. It’s such an amazing thing to share your story with others! I also hope that by sharing my story, I can bring messages across to my readers. I’d love for the readers of my books to see the importance of staying true to yourself and to make your own decisions. That you should live your life for you and not limit yourself because of others’ expectations or opinions. And for girls that it is alright to be ambitious and to want something more in life than just marrying Prince Charming. Another message that I hope is evident in my books is the right to be who you are and to be free to love whomever your heart falls for.

4) At this stage in your life whom do you admire the most & why?
There are so many amazing persons and authors out there! But if I have to choose one author, it would have to be J.K. Rowling, for the way she created a whole universe on her own and all the characters that you love and carry with you in your heart forever. With Harry Potter, J.K. Rowling has also helped so many troubled and lonely children, giving them hope and bringing them joy, it’s utterly amazing. There’s even a research study proving that the Harry Potter books help children to be more accepting of LGBT persons, so the books are literally making the world a better place! If that doesn’t inspire you as an author, I don’t know what does!

And if I have to choose one person, not an author, it would be Malala Yousafzai. She must be one of the bravest persons on this earth and such a wonderful role model. One person really can change the world!

5) Would you like to brief about your childhood and teen days?
-

6) You're favourite excerp/ quote from this book?
Two of my favourite quotes are these ones:

“I’d rather be hurt and end up with a shattered heart, than miss out on loving you.”
and

“You’ve changed,” she finally said. “Why, what happened?”
“You happened.”

(One for Sasha and one for Tyler! I think both quotes says a lot about the characters and how things evolve in the story.)

7) 5 years from now on, where would you like to see yourself?
In five years’ time, I hope that I will be able to be a full-time writer and to have the luxury to only focus on my books and my writing. It would be a dream to be able to spend full days just writing at my desk instead of trying to write whenever and wherever in the small time I have between work and family and everything else. And also to have my books represented in the major book stores. I hope that I have written at least one, or maybe two, more book series as well by then.

8) You say that Erica is more like you, would you mind telling us the similarities between you two?
Yes, I have to admit that Erica is very much based on myself. But, as an author’s privilege, she is a bit smarter and better looking lol… But besides that, she’s just like me; clumsy, a bookworm, something of “an old soul”, feeling out of step with her same age friends and being too serious for her own good at times, a kind of bad driver, but a great runner finding peace and quiet and respite from all demands out in the woods with her running shoes on.

9) Will you be writing more books after finishing this trilogy? ( yea a question for my personal interest as i wanna read more books by  u)
Thank you so much, Chresann, that makes me so happy to hear!!! And yes, I do have some ideas already for a new book that I’m hoping to pursue. But I might take a little break though and not start directly with a new book directly after I’ve finished the Angelheart Saga. It has been a bit too much at times to find time for work, family, friends and the writing…

10) Anything you'd like to say about book 3 in this trilogy?
I am in the middle of writing it and am so excited about it! I don’t want to give too much away, but I can say as much as that there will be some more tough decisions for Erica to make and some new unexpected plot twists in the third book. I’d really love for all of the characters in the book to get their happy ever afters, but I’m quite sure I won’t be able to accomplish that. But who knows? The parts about writing a book that I like the most is when the characters takes over, when they kind of creates their own story.

That's all guys, i really loved her book and her answers as well,  I wish her lots of love and success for her future ventures .

Overview/ My Opinion:

I had the most wonderful time reading this book.  Its definitely one of the best books I've ever read!
The storyline was beautiful, the plot was fresh and strong enough to keep me gripped to  the core while reading this book. The writing style was good, the language used was easy going, crisp and lucid. The cover and the title are appropriately chosen.

Coming to the part that i absolutely loved,  i.e the character development. Honestly after reading the Diary of anne Frank, the only time when i could connect with the protagonist so much was only when I read this book.

Erica ( The protagonist) was so much like me.
In the initial stage of reading this book , I felt i was seeing a reflection of my own self!

This book has so much to offer, from trust, bondings , friendships, love and the list can go on!

The chemistry between Erica & Sasha was the most adorable part of the book, also not forgetting the friendship between Danny and Erica.

I liked the way the emmotions of each character is crafted, its raw and pure.

It was nice getting an insight into the lifes of these Teenagers.

I also liked the kind of fairy tale Romance that this book upholds along with a slightly different political background.

Now coming to the part that was a complete Game changer/ toe curler / table turner / etc... call it whatsoever but it was the I-DIDN'T-EXPECT-THAT-TO-COME  kinda movement. Yes, I'm obviously referring to the Climax!
It totally ripped off my heart!  I've cried after a fairly long time over a book

Based on this book itself i can say that the entire trilogy can be adapted into an amazing movie series as well! Infact i really want it to be adapted into a movie, so that her story can reach out to other non- readers as well.

Overall this was an excellent read & definitely a tear jearker!
Would i recommend it? Hell yes! Its a must read if you love the Romance Genre, just like i do. This book is definitely gonna strike  a chord in your heart.

Even if you don't like the Genre, i think this book is definitely capable of changing your opinion ;-p

My Rating: 5/5🌟

Length : 64 pgs

Grab the book to know more!

Overview/ My Opinion: I always love reading children's books, they are light and easy going at the same time heart touching due to the innovation and innocence put in it  by the authors .

This book too is one of them. I really liked reading it, the storyline was good and easy going, the plot was strong enough.
The character  development was done really well, i could connect with the characters as well. The writing style was good, this will also give children a chance to expand  their vocabulary. The font is quiet comfortable on one's eyes.
The cover  is chosen appropriately. The beautiful illustrations enhanced my reading experience and  is sure to catch up with your childs attention and interest as well.

This book has a lot to offer to children, values such as Kindness, love , friendship, generosity, honesty   and much more.

Now coming to the part where the book required some improvements , firstly the title could have been chosen more comprehensively,
Secondly the climax was rushed, I would have loved it even more if it would last longer.

Overall, this was a very pleasant and an easy going read.  Definitely recommended if you want to get your child into reading some really good stuff!

My Rating: 4/5 🌟

Book Review: Until Love Sets Us Apart by Aditya Nighhot

Are you looking out for a contemporary romance story? If yes, then this post is for you.

Hello  everyone, thank you for giving this post your time, I'm back today with another book review titled UNTIL LOVE SETS US APART by ADITYA NIGHHOT.

LANGUAGE: English
GENRE: Fiction/ Contemporary Romance
LENGTH: 232
PUBLISHER: Fingerprint publishers
PUBLISHED: 15 Aug, 2018

DESCRIPTION:

Aisha and Rohit are like chalk and cheese. While Rohit is completely aimless and imperfect, Aisha is focussed and a perfectionist. Just two opposites. But don’t they say opposites attract?
He loves her . . . She loves him. Their wedding is on the cards but their love is put to the test when an unforeseen incident hits their lives.
Can loving somebody immensely set you apart?
Can everything just change in the blink of an eye?
Inspired from real-life incidents, this ‘Best Romance Book of the Year’ award winning novel is a heart-wrenching tale of true love, friendship and destiny. And a young author’s quest to find out what exactly happened . . .

OVERVIEW/ MY OPINION:

I had a really wonderful time reading this book & now a really hard time reviewing it.
The plot was good and strong, I could connect with the Author  who was in search for a story to be known to the world.  The character backgrounds and development was done well.
The cover and the title are appropriately chosen.  The writing style was good, the only place where it disappointed me a bit was when it took a slow pace in the between and at times a scene or two  from the book sounded quiet filmy. The climax was something so unpredictable, it literally broke my heart,
I couldn't really believe it that the book that caused the "butterflies in my stomach " kinda feeling, made me laugh so much, now the very same book ripped off my heart, it made me sob so much.

Moreover, it was good getting an insight into the lifes of these medical students, to learn  more about their lifestyle and experiences.

This book deals with an issue that's so prominent in today's world.  I've atleast on my part, read very few books that talk about this issue.

Overall, this was a very interesting and heart wrenching read, an absolute tear jearker. I
Definitely recommend you to give this book a try.
Im pretty sure that you'll love it as much as I do.

MY RATING: 4/5💫

Book Review: Men and dreams in the dhauladhar by kocheri C Shibu

Are you looking out for a book which will give you the perfect indian Vibes? If yes, then this post is for you!

Hello there everyone, thank you so much for giving this post your time.  I'm back today with another book review titled Men and dreams in the dhauladhar by kochery C Shibu.

LANGUAGE: English
GENRE: Fiction
LENGTH: 283
PUBLISHER: Niyogi books
PUBLISHED: 3 August.  2015

DESCRIPTION/ SYNOPSIS:
A hydelpower project in the remote Himalayas. Three people brought together by fate. Nanda, an engineer from Kerala at the dam construction site hiding from his past, from the law, torn between the love of his dear ones and the traditional kalari code of revenge. Khusru, a boy displaced from his native village in Kashmir, a gambit in the terror plot threatening to blow up the dam, working as a labourer at the site. Rekha, a Kathak dancer in heart, a doctor by profession, arrives at the campsite as the consort of Khusru. A village that accepts the dictates of modernity with a heavy heart, its population steeped in superstitions and religious beliefs.

All throng the campsite like moths to a flame, some escape untouched, successful; some, miss a step, and perish. Each has a story to tell and a dream to realise. Men and Dreams in the Dhauladhar is about the aspirations of these people with their cares and worries woven into the site life. The fury of nature and the hardships of project life have no mercy for the weak and no time for the dead. Like an eternal spectator the Dhauladhar watches as men risk life and limb in a quest to fulfill their dreams.[sic]

OVERVIEW/ MY OPINION:

I had mixed feelings while reading this book.
Firstly the concept is fresh and innovative.
The character backgrounds were really well developed. I could connect with the characters well.  The writing style was good and the language used was easy going and lucid.
Now coming to the part where the book required some improvements, firstly this is a character driven book i.e a lot of attention is paid to the development of the characters, however I found the plot to be weak, I wish that the amount of time that was given to the character development, would be given to the plot as well. Secondly though the writing style was good there were too many abusive words / native words used which made it a bit difficult to get in.
The technical aspects/ chapters of the book made it a bit boring at times, secondly the book takes a very slow pace in the between.
Lastly the climax was rushed and the book ended quite abruptly which kinda took out the soul of this book.

Now coming to the part that i absolutely loved,
I loved the way to emotions of each character is crafted, its raw, pure , passionate & dedicated to their loved ones
I loved the way the life of the commoners living in the northern part of India is shown,
Their dreams their difficulties all are highlighted very well. I really appreciate the time, effort and research put in this book.
Considering the fact that this is the authors debut novel, he has done a really good job.
 Definitely a very insightful read!

Overall this was a good read and definitely worth giving a try once! But this is definitely not a read for beginners...tho it has something  for everyone, pick it up only after you've read a good no. Of books.

MY RATING: 3.5/5💫
