Book review: Life is the flower, love is the honey.

Are you interested in gifting yourself some good positive weekend vibes? If yes, then this post is for you.

Hello there peeps, hope you'll are doing well.
thank you for giving this post your time.
So today I'm gonna talk about the book Life is  the flower, love is the honey by Surabhi Sharma.

I'm gonna discuss the plot/ settings / characters and much more along with the final verdict of whether this book is worth reading or not.

LANGUAGE: English
GENRE: Fiction/ inspirational Romance/ tiny tale
LENGTH: 113
PUBLISHED: 21 August.2018

DESCRIPTION/ SUMMARY :

‘You are so much more than what you think you are. You are infinite. You have the power to achieve bigger things.’

This is a story of a dream; a story for every dreamer.
Shubh is a dreamer. He wishes to become a nature photographer but submits to his parents’ wishes who want a secure future for him. He fears he will disappoint his parents and gives up on his dreams.
Monica is a dreamer. She is a painter who paints the canvas with the inspirational colors of life. She let go of her fears and inhibitions one day when someone helped give her paintings a purpose.
What happens when fate brings these two dreamers together?
A unique tale of love and life in the form of tiny tales about the dreams and challenges we face.[sic]

OVERVIEW/ MY OPINION :  I had a pretty good experience reading this book, the storyline/ plot was good & on point. The character of Monica was very well developed, I could relate to her a lot, I feel that shubh's characters required  a bit move  crafting. The title and cover were complementing each other really well.
The message/ theme which the author intended to provide while / after reading the book was quite clear in the first half itself. Now coming to the part where the book required some improvements, firstly shubh's workplace should have been described which wasn't done, I  would have loved to understand his attitude towards his workplace and colleagues and not just his job.
Secondly the story should have ended up with giving a detailed information of the lifes of both the characters and not just ones.
Overall this was a pretty good & a pleasant read, with an inspirational story. Considering the fact that this is the authors debut novel, she has done a really good job.
I would recommend it if you're a beginner/ if you want a good weekend/ rainy day read.

MY RATING: 3.5/5🌟

The Chief is faced with several questions. How did it all happen? Will he be able to solve the case? Can he get the accused politicians acquitted? Should he find an escape for himself amidst the turmoil?

It's time he found the answers![sic]

Overview / My Opinion:

I had a really good time reading this book. It kept me gripped till the end. The writing style was good. The language was crisp & lucid.
The characters were very well developed. I could  connect with a few of them really well.
It gives one a deep insight into the lifes & lifestyle of these 4 youngsters from totally different backgrounds. The concept behind it was really different & unique. The title and the cover are appropriately chosen.
I read this book for a pretty good amount of time. However I had a few problems with it, starting with the info dumping. There was a lot of info dumping at many places which made it a bit slow paced read. I said it before that I liked the writing style, but I also think that the author overwrites a bit.
Secondly the confusing nature of the characters as well as the supporting characters. At times the decisions taken by them were a bit impractical and as the chapters were shifting I was being confused a lot  & I had to keep returning back to the previous pages to keep up with the story.

But overall this was a really interesting, innovative and enjoyable read . Also saying that it is the authors debut novel I must say that she has done a fantastic job with it .
I really liked reading it & would definitely recommend this to anyone who's looking out for thriller / crime recommendations.

MY RATING: 4/5🌟

Book review: Everyone has a story by Savi Sharma

"Everyone has a story to tell, everyone is a writer, some are written in books, & some are confined to hearts."
Savi Sharma, Everyone has a story.

Hello there peeps, hope you'll are doing well.
So I'm here today to finally review the most hyped book & the bestseller of the year EVERYONE HAS A STORY by SAVI SHARMA.
I really wanted to learn if it was worth the hype or no & hence I picked it up a few months ago. So read along to find out what I felt about this book.

Language: English
Publisher: Westland publishers
Published: 2017
Length: 184
Genre: inspirational Romance

Summary: Everyone has a story.
Meera, a fledgling writer who is in search of a story that can touch millions of lives.
Vivaan, assistant branch manager at Citibank, who dreams of travelling the world.
Kabir, a café manager who desires something of his own. Nisha, the despondent café customer who keeps secrets of her own.
Everyone has their own story, but what happens when these four lives are woven together?
Pull up a chair in Kafe Kabir and watch them explore friendship and love, writing their own pages of life from the cosy café to the ends of the world.

Overview/ My Opinion:

Now I know that there are equal number of negative as well as positive reviews about this book, but what I thought about it was a bit different.

Firstly, This book was my first book of the year & it actually got me back into reading after a pretty long hiatus.
The story of the book was very well written and beautiful.I like the narration as it was good & crisp. The writing style and language was easy going & lucid. This book kept me intruged into it for a pretty good amount of time. However I would have loved it even more if the story was written on kabir's dreams, aspirations and hardships rather than just Vivans desire to travel.
Secondly the characters decisions at times were  quiet non practical & stupid. The descriptions of the characters and places was done perfectly & vividly, but the author should have included a few supporting characters as well.
I'm  Looking forward to read EHAS#2

Overall this book was a good, light , easy going read & an inspirational read.  Would recommend it if you don't read very often, and want a good inspirational and non-cheesy romance.

MY Rating: 3.5/5

Independent, are we?

Hello guys, Thank you for giving this post your  time  so today let's talk something about the most important day of our country. YES today is the  72nd independence day of our country. A lot has changed over these  72 years that we've been liberated From the foreign rule. As I say this, you're mind might have probably started to picture a few scenarios before you.  But let me ask you, are we really free? Are really living in the land of freedom? The answer is NO, we aren't...in fact we are still living in a place that could be easily called a land of slavery , we are bonded under superstitious beliefs , blind faith, Reservations still based on caste & gender, untoucability, corruption, exploitation, inequality and oh not forgetting that we are bonded under the preying eyes of those evils who keep scanning a girl from top to bottom not just after but even before birth. We live in a country where godess are worshipped and still don't see that same godess in the heart of an 8 year old.
We want to bring in bullet trains but are least bothered about the bridges collapsing one after the other.
And I know it now that a few of you'll might say, but we are progressing....yes dear we are progressing but not developing.
We are progressing in all the possible ways except that of humanity and intellectual development to treat each other as humans first and not tag them according to their caste .
We will progress people, we can, we will, we have the potential, we have the resources but it shall all be fruitful only if we develop internally as individuals and realise our duty towards our nation.

A few weeks ago when i opened up my newspaper and found  the article over"Nirbhayas Rapist to be hanged soon"
On the very first page itself and complementing to it the article of "Menstrual hygiene finally made Tax free in India"
That is what we can call the progress of a nation, because it's learning to treat individuals rightly & respectfully.

In conclusion I'd like to say,

Indian has fallen and risen ...it will fall & it will rise..time and again. Because that's our true spirit of Indianism that every individual upholds,  and that's when people can  look at us and say  'pakka indian hain'.

Thank you.
Wishing you all a very happy independence day. Do let me know your thoughts over this article & subscribe to my blog. Thank you  ðŸ’™

BOOK REVIEW: ROOTS OF THE RESILIENT by Jean marie bub

I know almost all of us might have been in such a situation atleast once in our lifetime wherein we find our head spinning, our limbs turning up numb, our body turning cold, shivers running down our spine and electric waves running through our veins. It hurts a lot and puts us into a turmoil.  But how would you react if I asked you, at that very moment what's you're greatest strength? Yes people we all have certain strengths in us that are inate & they grow up within the time when we need them the most, however we are so busy focusing over what's going on that we overlook that strength of ours.  But there are some ordinary people who do the extraordinary job of choosing to focus on that strength of theirs rather than the situation they are in & yes guys today I bring unto you on such review of the book Roots of the resilent by Jean marie bub.

LANGUAGE   : English
GENRE : Non fiction/ poetry / memoir
PAGES:   114
PUBLISHER : SELF PUBLISHED
PUBLISHED : 30 April 2018

DESCRIPTION : This is a collection of poetry for those who have suffered with mental illness. This is for the "strong ones," the broken, the tired. This is for the resilient. This is for the ones that have spent years fighting the thoughts that plague their minds, this is for those who never gave up. This is my ode to hope, to strength -- this is Roots of the Resilient. - After the authors attempted suicide and years of being stifled of growth; she decided it was time to give herself to the sun and never look back. Roots of the Resilient is an anthology of raw, passion filled poetry, written amidst her turbulent struggle with bipolar personality disorder, manic depression and anxiety. It's prying, it's powerful, it's all too personal, but most importantly -- it's the truth. - Roots of the Resilient contains trigger warnings and multiple help resources.[sic]

OVERVIEW/ MY OPINION :  There are very few things that vow to stick with you, this book is one of them for me. All the while when I was reading this book it kept me locked to it there were so many times that tears welled up in my eyes as I read a few poems.  Jean's writing style is pretty much impressive, she pens down her story with relatable examples, I could feel a connection building up with her as I proceeded  with this book.  Secondly the illustrations in the book are very attractive and complement well with the content under it, also the cover design and title is appropriate.  She speaks very neatly about mental illness and and specified certain ways to get out of it. The only part wherein this book disappointed me was that it was pretty short I finished reading it in 1/2 hr.  I would have loved it even more if it was a bit more lengthy.  This book is a must read for everyone, even if you hate reading, it provides an insight into the life of people who struggle with mental illness and torture. Overall this book was a really good and an  informative read .

MY RATING: 4/5 .

BOOK REVIEW: THE BLUE MOON DAY BY SANTOSH SIVRAJ

Is the moon tired? she looks so pale
Within her misty veil:
She scales the sky from east to west,
And takes no rest.

Before the coming of the night
The moon shows papery white;
Before the dawning of the day
She fades away. 🌚

               "The Moon"
               -Christina Rossetti

Remember the day when we all were set to watch the Blue moon from our balconies?
The kind of feelings and joy we had as we seen it? Just one word for it 'Amazing' right?
Because these things come very rarely....and so does good books!

Hello there peeps, hope you'll are doing well.
Thank you for giving this post your time.
I'm back today with another book review & recomendation titled THE BLUE MOON DAY by SANTHOSH SIVARAJ

LANGUAGE : English
GENRE: Fiction
LENGTH : 206
PUBLISHER : Invincible publishers
PUBLISHED : 9 June,2018

DESCRIPTION/ SUMMARY:

Things were never the same for five ordinary individuals who got struck at cross roads and there was no way they can run back. They had no other choice but to take a plunge into their deepest fear and leave the rest to destiny. Their characters was tested out of their comfort zone and it witnessed abstruse results; a PhD scholar fights to win a pizza making contest and a tennis prodigy running for his life in a war torn, bloodied Island. Extreme circumstances and their consequences made these ordinary individuals extraordinary . Was the test imposed on them by someone? Or did they invite it on themselves. The Blue Moon Day is that Once in a Blue Moon day story which questions an individual's priorities, ridicules the worldly routines and finally redefines happiness.[sic]

OVERVIEW/ MY OPINION : I had the most wonderful time reading this book. This is by far one of the best books I've ever read.
You'll know that if a book sticks to my soul, I find it really difficult to review it. I yet can't digest the fact that this is the author's debut novel. The writing style was excellent & lucid.
The concept behind it was a really innovative and fresh one.  Though it's a fictional novel, I think it really qualifies into the category of self help as well.
The cover & the title was appropriately chosen. This  book contains a  collection of short stories, few of which ended up very roughly & left me in tears and some that melted my heart into a little puddle of happiness. It was not even once that I struggled with this book, every page opened up a portal to something new & unique.
The characters and places were well described & could be connected with very easily.
This is the kind of book that's gonna stick with me for a lifetime & it's definitely going to be read time and again.
I just want every person out there to read this book, it's something that's gonna redefine life for you. I bet you're not going to regret investing your time and money in it.
Very few books qualify into the category of books to read in a lifetime & books to read even if you hate reading,& this book had made its way into both of these categories.
Overall it was a really fantastic and a must read for everyone!

MY RATING: 4.5/5

BOOK REVIEW: LIFE IS WHAT MATTERS by Dr. Alka Dixit

Title : Life is What matters
Author : Dr.Alka dixit
Length: 168
Language : English
Genre: Non fiction/ self help
Publisher : Srishti publishers
Published: 20 May 2018

Description :

Our daily lives keep us so occupied that all we see in it is chaos, and not the
blessings that come with it. We see the problems that stand in our way, and
forget the ones we have crossed and moved on. Isn't it!
To understand life, we need to first value our life. In simpler words, we need to
take care of our life. What if we raise both, our kids and our own life,
simultaneously?
When the author first met the enigmatic Dr Aditi, she was intrigued by her
profound understanding of life and penned this book on her effective and easy
to adapt plan for a happier life. You will also learn to:
! Walk through crises of life with positivity.
! Realize the true happiness that life holds.
! Overcome fears, shortcomings and hurdles.
! Exercises and guidelines to build a stronger 'you'.
! Achieve big with available opportunities and resources.
Life is What Matters is an incredibly motivating tale of a girl who embraced her
imperfections and succeeded in life, against all odds. With mantras for living a
better life, this book is a treasure.[sic]

Overview/ My Opinion :  I had mixed feeling about this book. Firstly the concept around which it revolves is very good & deep. The content over certain concepts were good & agreeable.
However, there was hardly anything new compared to other self help books. The main concept was repeated way too many times, which made it really boring & difficult to get into & finish it. The writing style was good. Considering the fact that this is the authors debut novel, she has done a really good job with it.
I would definitely recommend this book if you want to start reading nonfiction or self help books, however unfortunately if you have read too many self help books, this might not really work out for you.

My Rating: 3.5/ 5
