BOOK REVIEW: THE BLUE MOON DAY BY SANTOSH SIVRAJ

Is the moon tired? she looks so pale
Within her misty veil:
She scales the sky from east to west,
And takes no rest.

Before the coming of the night
The moon shows papery white;
Before the dawning of the day
She fades away. 🌚

               "The Moon"
               -Christina Rossetti

Remember the day when we all were set to watch the Blue moon from our balconies?
The kind of feelings and joy we had as we seen it? Just one word for it 'Amazing' right?
Because these things come very rarely....and so does good books!

Hello there peeps, hope you'll are doing well.
Thank you for giving this post your time.
I'm back today with another book review & recomendation titled THE BLUE MOON DAY by SANTHOSH SIVARAJ

LANGUAGE : English
GENRE: Fiction
LENGTH : 206
PUBLISHER : Invincible publishers
PUBLISHED : 9 June,2018

DESCRIPTION/ SUMMARY:

Things were never the same for five ordinary individuals who got struck at cross roads and there was no way they can run back. They had no other choice but to take a plunge into their deepest fear and leave the rest to destiny. Their characters was tested out of their comfort zone and it witnessed abstruse results; a PhD scholar fights to win a pizza making contest and a tennis prodigy running for his life in a war torn, bloodied Island. Extreme circumstances and their consequences made these ordinary individuals extraordinary . Was the test imposed on them by someone? Or did they invite it on themselves. The Blue Moon Day is that Once in a Blue Moon day story which questions an individual's priorities, ridicules the worldly routines and finally redefines happiness.[sic]

OVERVIEW/ MY OPINION : I had the most wonderful time reading this book. This is by far one of the best books I've ever read.
You'll know that if a book sticks to my soul, I find it really difficult to review it. I yet can't digest the fact that this is the author's debut novel. The writing style was excellent & lucid.
The concept behind it was a really innovative and fresh one.  Though it's a fictional novel, I think it really qualifies into the category of self help as well.
The cover & the title was appropriately chosen. This  book contains a  collection of short stories, few of which ended up very roughly & left me in tears and some that melted my heart into a little puddle of happiness. It was not even once that I struggled with this book, every page opened up a portal to something new & unique.
The characters and places were well described & could be connected with very easily.
This is the kind of book that's gonna stick with me for a lifetime & it's definitely going to be read time and again.
I just want every person out there to read this book, it's something that's gonna redefine life for you. I bet you're not going to regret investing your time and money in it.
Very few books qualify into the category of books to read in a lifetime & books to read even if you hate reading,& this book had made its way into both of these categories.
Overall it was a really fantastic and a must read for everyone!

MY RATING: 4.5/5
